BUT a big step UP in happiness. We hated the house in the end since it was such a money pit and we couldnt afford to fix it. It was so dark and depressing. Our new apartment has a bigger kitchen and a working stove! It is also bright and cheery. The only this missing is a little 4-footed kitty. We had to give up our babies when we moved.

We hope to get another baby in 6 months to a year.
who got your babies? Can't you get them back? Just wondering?

We had to take them to the local animal shelter and they were adopted out. I am happy that they have new homes like us. I would have taken at least one of them with us, but another $400 deposit on top of the $800 we had to pay to move in here was just too steep.

Oh, boy where to start...my house is a lifetime project. It's about 150 years old and it hasn't had very much in the way of maintenance.

Good bones though

This was our wedding day...came home to the construction zone...

This was the kitchen on the first floor (we live on the third, rent the second, and are working on the first)--now gutted.

This was the hole for the old dumbwaiter...

It's hard because we are trying to save as much of the house as we can while bringing it as close to code as we can...need to win the lottery or learn how to stop time.

Click on the virtual tour to see the inside. My colors will be different. Lots of earth tones.

I can't believe that house is only $99,950!!! That's only £50,000 here! That house would be worth about £200,000 ($400,000) over where I live. The UK is so expensive.

My house is worth £180,000 ($360,000) and only has 2 bed, 1 bath, 1 living room and a kitchen. It's also 1 story, with a very small garden!!! I'll post a picture later.

What a BEAUTIFUL kitchen!! I am dying to have our house built (living with future-in-laws for the last 2½ years puts a serious toll on sanity!!).

We currently live in the house in the background of these 2 pictures, which is Rob's parent's house.

Our bedroom is at the end of the house, closest in the 2nd picture (former 2 car garage). It's messy right now, especially with the kittens making a mess of whatever they can. It's about 400 sq ft though, & has its own bathroom. If it had it's own fridge, I could live in there and never deal with his parents until we get our house.

Dont mind the cars! The first pic is Rob's Monte Carlo when it had seen better days, and the 2nd is a T-type he tore apart in the yard. It's since been put in the scrap yard, and the Monte is in the backyard. I dont have any pictures of the house w/o cars in front!

Thank you to everyone that loves my kitchen. I waited 47 years to have a kitchen like this. DH and I designed it ourselves and we are very proud of it. We will do the bathroom next year and am hoping that it turns out as well as the kitchen.

Hey Bruce - can I have your house in Bali? That is gorgeous!!!

That is such a pretty picture!!! This might sound odd, but I looked at the house and thought to myself that it looks like 'a Tennessee house', thoughh I'm not sure exactly what that meant. And then I noticed you are from TN. I guess it just remindsme of some houses near where DH grew up, in North East TN.
