Help, I'm desperate!

You guys, what can I do? We’ve called all of the shelters where I live, the sheriff, the Humane Society isn’t open (it opens at noon, we’ll call there when it does), and a lady we were referred to that only does dogs. None of them will take him. He’s not feral, just scared. I really, really wish we could keep him, but we can’t. We haven’t got the time or place to socialize a stray cat.

The lady we talked to last said stick it in said we should just drop it off. Help, I don’t want to do this! Not only is it frightening for the cat, it’s also not fair for the shelter. What do I do? Journey needs to go somewhere besides here, because I’m absolutely not going to ‘destroy him myself’ (the lady’s words, not mine), and I'm absolutely not going to drop him off in the middle of nowhere. I'm a cat lover, not an abandoner.

We can't keep him any longer, he's got to go today. Please - any advice?

It looks like my prayers or Journey worked. We called the Humane Society, and they said we could could bring him in. I'm so relieved I could cry! I don't think I'm going to be volunteering there, but we'll see. I'll update you after we get back on the status of that.

I'm glad they'll take him. I was going to try to have to work something out with you for me to take him from you.

I can't volunteer there now (you have to be at least fourteen) but when I turn in February I'll be able to. Now I'm torn between whether or not I want him to be adopted now or stay there until I'm able to work with him. (Just kidding, of course, I'd like him adopted! He'll always be my sweet little boy, though.)

Thank you for all of your thoughts.

Thank you all for the vibes...I know at least that they can work miracles! I'll see if I can get my mom to drive me to the humane society to get an update on him.

I'll see if I can wheedle a ride out of someone. Not having my driver's license is a pain. However, a few well-placed dollars can't go wrong, so hopefully I'll be able to get there today or tomorrow to see if he's up for adoption yet. Thanks for helping my little Journey boy!
