My 5 month old kitten has a habit of jumping on the counter. I spray her with water because I don't want her on the counter but that doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Spraying her with water can lead to ear infections if any gets into her ears. Some cats do not like aluminum foil, that may deter her. You can use double sided tape and see if that deters her, or you could just wipe your counters down before you do any prep on them because more than likely she is on them when you are not around.

I just keep a spray disenfectant handy and spray down several times a day esp. before making food. It's not a big deal.

One of my "counters" is an over 10 ' island in my kitchen which has a sink, our stovetop and seats 6 at the curve of its' "J". Butzie jumped up at the sit end and I told her, "What a good girl! You can jump that high!" She hasn't been up there since.
