She's REALLY gotten the hang of it now and LOVES it! I've never seen my shy girl so animated and playful
She's so athletic, she actually manages to leap into the air after the feathers and catch the feathers in her mouth! I'm so proud

Missed it by THAT much!

What a star high-flyer she is
, and what an ADORABLE smile she has in the last pic!
Thanks for sharing with us -- and thanks for playing DaBird with lovely Lily
. It's the #1 toy of choice here, too!
Airborne felines -- we love 'em

Sarah, Great pics!

Looks like you've gotten the hang of it too, with the camera. I really enjoy taking pics of my crew going after da bird. It's great fun, isn't it?

Give Lily a good long scritch. She deserves it after expending all that effort and getting that amazing air.

I still can't get over how much they have with it! I have to put Stumpy outside for part of the session and put Smudge on the couch so Lily can go nutso over it for a while without landing on the others.

I have the camera on a GorillaPod on the ground facing up a bit, and with manual focus on set to a particular spot (so it doesn't have to focus before taking the shot) - I try to keep Lily around there, and have the camera remote in one hand and Da Bird in the other. That way, whenever she leaps in about the right spot, I press the remote to take a photo. So with a fast shutter speed, the camera already focused and stable, I can get her in the air without any blur.

Of course I still need the planets to line up just right to get a half decent shot...
