I've been wondering about this for a bit. Ever since I got her loose stool problem resolved, Coco's energy level has been gradually increasing. Now, about 3 months post problem solved, she is pretty much a maniac.

I've also noticed that she doesn't sleep as much as she used to. That isn't surprising if she is feeling better but she also sleeps less than my 3 DSHs. When I am home during the day on weekends the DSHs can be pretty much counted on to sleep all afternoon and leave me in peace to get things done. Coco, on the other hand, stays awake most if not all afternoon and pesters me to play with her the whole time. She's cute about it. She'll keep bringing toys to me and dropping them at my feet until I take the bait or she'll sit at my feet looking at me with those big bengal eyes. And this has been going on for several weeks now so I don't think it is just short term "I'm feeling better" energy.

I can't tell for sure what she does at night but I know she sleeps with me most of the night but I'm pretty sure the others sleep most of the night also.

They are all 2-3 years old.

So, do bengals sleep less than other breeds???

not as a whole but some cats are like that... my Zoey ( suspected bengal cross) is 3.5 and only in the last month has she slept more than 10 housr per day..

I find that my two sleep through most of the night, but that they tend to stay awake for longer periods of time during the day than do the moggies.

Penny is really mellow, but Max has kitten crazies, still, at 9 months old, and he can be found looking for trouble not long after the others have fallen asleep.

I've never really thought about but I guess maybe they do. When I compare Takoda and Magnum to say Simon (my Persian) who sleeps all night and most of the day too then yes they definitely sleep less.

Even when I compare them to the rest of my crew Takoda and Magnum stay busy during the day when everyone else seems to be sleeping.

Mine are Ocicats, but they are similar in energy level to Bengals, they are awake much more during the day than the moggies.

They sleep pretty much through the night though, like Bety's cats

I don't currently have other breeds or moggies on hand to compare the bengals to, but mine sleep through the night 10pm to 6pm, but are very active and busy throughout the day, with cat naps here and there.

Maybe my moggies are more active at night than I realize and that's why they sleep more during the day. Every time I have reason to get up in the middle of the night though they are always sound asleep.

Guess I'll just have to set up video cameras throughout the house to monitor their activity.

Actually, that would be kinda fun...

Wow, you must have REALLY sleepy Bengals, there, Nial! 10 p.m. through to 6 p.m.?!

Max started calling out to me this morning at about 6 a.m., he even came in my room and "OwWow-ed" at me a few times, but I ignored him, so he went away until I got up.

I have to say, though, even when he wakes me up at 4 a.m. because he is singing to himself in the bathroom mirror ("Ow Wow. Ow WOW. Ooooow. Ow Wow Wow. Ow Wow. Ow WOW!") the sound of him just brings a big smile to my face as I drft back off to sleep again.
I love my singing baby Bengal!
