So we just had the weirdest freak storm which last about an hour. Charlie is happily curled up in his little box in the enclosure, and of course became extremely unhappy when i forced him out and came running back into the house with him.

We're into Summer now and have had really hot, dry weather. Today we got everything. Hail, rain, thunder, lightening etc. It was raining so hard and so windy we had to close up all the doors and windows, the rain was blowing into the house, the whole laundry floor was wet but thankfully the house is built up but not flooded.

Same can not be said for the garage. We already started packing for the move weeks, if not months ago. The entire floor was covered in about 2-3 inches of water and we had to rescue boxes/bags/containers.

We're hoping the boxes weren't in the water for long enough. All the more valuable boxes are in the house (clothes/books etc).

I know we needed rain, but that was ridiculous!

When i read about your hurricane threads and see it on the news i really feel for you guys, i can't imagine having to deal with a storm on the level.

Ugh well it happened again a couple of hours later. I ran out into the pouring rain and lugged some heavy concrete bricks to the garage to divert the water. We got flooded the worst in Victoria and some of the streets were so flooded cars couldn't get through!

I don't think there's any damage now i've prevented it from happening again. But the garage is so warm and danky compared to the outside. I'm hoping the weather will warm up again to everything can dry out.

Is this what you get when you go through drought and beg for rain?

OMG - talk about "be careful what you wish for" - that sounds like how it is in the desert areas of California - the parched land can't manage a deluge, so it's a choice of drought or flashflooding

But ....did Charlie's crackers stay dry???? BTW - my kids & I just love your siggy.....always gives us a great chuckle
