With all the stress and rush this time of year, i thought it might be nice for all of us to take a step back for a moment and remember the simple things in life that make us smile. Let's list off a few of the things we're greatful for this week.
I'll start (in no particular order):

1.My volunteers that help me at the shelter. They are soo amazing.
They have such huge hearts- always willing to help, always there to pitch in whenever and whatever they can. Without volunteers like them, our shelter would not be where it is today! They are soo wonderful!
In addition to their wonderful personalities- two of them also do not mind waking up at the crack of dawn every Sunday to help me clean kennels! It takes a special person to help wake up every week to help you scoop poop

2. Colin - his sweet personality and the little things he does for me just because...keep reminding me over and over again why i love him!

3. My furbabies- they're soo cute!

4. My family

5.My goofy coworkers- gotta love those weirdos i work with
They always make me laugh!

6. Winning first place at the Christmas parade last night for our shelter's Christmas float
We got the Mayor's trophy!!!
The celebration dinner afterwards with the yummy margaritas was just as great!

7. Sweet tea - need i say more!

8. I am VERY greatful that aside from a few minor things and my best friends mother who has cancer -all of my family members and friends are healthy and happy.

9. Christmas is comming!! What better time of the year to be happy and celebrate? My favorite part of the holiday is decorating our home and spending time with our family!

10. I'm getting married to a wonderful person that i love! I'm a lucky girl

Your turn everyone!!!

For all the things that I have - I was buying Angel gifts for a little boy who wants a shirt and pants, and my friend had a girl who wanted shoes for Christmas. It makes me very thankful and appreciative that I have so much!

For a job that I love (most days) that pays me enough to live around here

For my boys who make my days happy when I come home tired!

For my family and friends

My mom...she is such a strong lady & very caring. Always thinking of others before herself.

DH...For being so supportive & bravery for moving back with my Mother. For wanting a housewife

The kitties...they always add sunshine to my day.

For true and wonderful friends who don't judge or criticize, are caring and supportive.

I'm thankful that we'll be able to go home for Christmas,

That I have one more week on my paper than I thought I had

I got most of the Christmas shopping done

We still have a roof over our heads and food in the fridge and that all our cats are alive

I am grateful for:

- My cats. I'm always amazed at how much they love me despite my short temper
They forgive me so much more easily than I forgive myself. I don't know what I ever did to deserve those two angels.

- Having food, a nice home and an opportunity to go back to school soon. That is so much more than most people have.

- Living without fear of violence. I went to see the movie "Shake Hands with the Devil" last night and even though I have already seen many movies about Rwanda, it still shook me. It is hard to find anything to be thankful for when looking at such horrible events, but I try to be thankful for me, and all the other people who did not have to live through this. I am also thankful that some people had the courage to help.

- Buddha, the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) and Sangha (community of Buddhists). These are helping me find the strength to face my problems, to be good to myself and to others and to be happy. Special thanks to the nice people I meet every week at the meditation center.

- Beth. I don't know who she is, but I found this recipe for "Beth's spicy oatmeal raisin cookies" and they're so good. I'm gonna go make some right now.

Things that I'm thankful for this past week:

1. My kitties. It would be awfully lonely without them;
2. That I made the decision to file for bankruptcy. A huge stressor in my left has been removed;
3. That I was able to patch my waterbed bladder!!

I am very thankful for my husband and the relationship we share. I am thankful for our health. We are both very lucky.

I am very thankful for my animals and their good health.

I am thankful that even though money is tight this year we can travel for Christmas to visit our families. This means a lot.

I am also very thankful that we have a roof over our heads, a nice place to call our own and things like good food. And I am thankful for my mom and dad and their good health.

I am thankful for Trout of course..and my family (even though I am not happy with someone in my family right now)

Having wonderful friends that are loyal and that accept me no matter what. I just wish they were closer to me

Food, shelter, my job and transportation as well..I would be nowhere without them! LITERALLY

Under the cats, mostly.
The day in itself. Normally I hate mondays with a vengeance... but today was good. Our girls got vaccinated and the vet says they are in utterly top notch perfect condition!!

great posts everyone!

today I am thankful for:

Colin vaccuming the house while i was at work today (he was off). I am sick at the moment-so the less work around the house i have to do, the better.

That i made it through the work day without ripping someone's head off-sounds aweful, but i'm really glad i made it through the work day without have a little breakdown! It was a really bad day at work- lots of animals returned for stupid reasons and atm we're down to one open dog kennel

That I didn't have to cook tonight
(Colin went out to a local resturant and brought dinner back home for us to eat!)

For an AWESOME bubble bath! Totally made me feel better after work! I love my bath tub
