How tall is your cat?

Hi,

I would be very interested to know how tall your cat is at the shoulder (in cm if possible), as I've seen very little information about domestic cat sizes in the literature. Please can you also tell me whether your cat is a male or female, and how old it is (fully-grown or still a juvenile)?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Tall from floor to shoulder/head or when they stand on their back paws and stretch up?

Hard to measure but:

Ling (female) 2 1/2 yrs old) - about 12 inches at the shoulder.

Charlie (male) 16 months old - almost 12 inches - probably about 11 - 11 1/2 - he'll be full grown when 2 yrs old.

Interesting idea! But mine will have to be in inches...I don't do cm

Lil Bit - at least 9 yr old female- 10 1/2 inches
Booger - 8 yr old female- 11 inches
Anna - 5 yr old female- 13 1/2 inches

ETA- measured from floor to shoulder.

Junior is almost 10 months old and I'd estimate him at around 8-10 inches (20.3-25.4 cm) when walking, and around 5 inches (12.7 cm) when stalking.

For the other Americans on here, 1 inch = 2.54 cm.

Sorry, I meant how tall is your cat from floor (base of foot) to its shoulder! I should have told you that straightaway, so decided to reply as soon as possible. Thanks everyone for your very friendly and interesting responses so far - keep them coming!

This is interesting. I always thought Sash was built shorter than other cats I've seen, he's 10 1/2 inches tall.

Jamie, an 8 1/2-year-old male, is 32 cm (12.6 inches) at the shoulder.
That surprised me. I didn't think he was that tall. I triple-checked, and he really is.

For anybody who has to do conversions, this site is really helpful:http://www.onlineconversion.com/

He wasn't too keen on being measured but I got just under 13".

He's a year old or so, but is probably still growing.
