Midnight brought 3 kittens about 6 weeks old to our house about 10 days ago. The three little ones were living with their mama in a rubbermaid shelter outside filled with straw and had been eating both canned and dry. Now one is missing! I am absolutely heartbroken. I can't imagine what could have happened. I have been trying to get near them but they won't leave their mama and she warns them every time I do try to get close. She has, as always made them true feral kitties which doesn't make sense as she must know that I have never harmed any of her little ones. I took a peak in her shelter and he isn't there...I don't even know if I should have done that as now she probably won't go in there again for 3 days. She is like that!

Please, please send prayers and good vibes for this little one. It is so cold outside...I am hoping that he shows up but if he doesn't please pray that someone picked him up somewhere and he is in a nice warm house. I may never know what happened to this little one, but it would sure make me feel better to know that some people are praying for him. I am so depressed about this. The job of feral caretaker is so hard sometimes...and can be so heartbreaking.

Thanks as always,

Why not distribute fliers for people to be on the lookout for this kitten?

Still no sign of the kitten. We just had 2 very cold and rainy days too and I am terrified of what could have happened if the kitten was outside alone. I have checked and checked but Midnight only has the two kittens with her now. I caught her looking for it and it broke my heart. The only thing I can think of is that someone took it in and that's why she can't find it. She has a habit of taking them away for days at a time and I guess one didn't follow her when she thought that it was. She is usually very good (too good) at protecting her little ones. That's why it's so hard to catch any of them or her. (As soon as the kittens are a little older I will be trying to catch her for spaying again). I thought of fliers but I live in a very unfriendly area for cats. When I put up fliers for my lost cat some were torn down and there were no repsonses at all.

Quick question though...Do any of you think that an 8 week (approx,) old kitten can survive on it's own outside this time of year? Do you think that there is any hope that it can make it back here? I know that I am holding on to false hope, but I hate to think that he is somewhere suffering or worse. At this point I guess that I will just think that it is in someone's house warm and well-fed.

Just wanted to post an update. Thank you for all of your well wishes! I truly appreciate it.
