Hello, I have a 4 and a half months old exotic shorthair. And I've noticed that his breath REALLY stinks. He's currently on Iams kitten in the purple package. What can be causing this??

Thanks in advance

How do his teeth look? Are they white or is there tarter build up?
If his teeth look fine it could be that the food doesn't agree with him.

At 4 1/2 months old he's probably starting to get his adult teeth. My little boy's breath was just terrible while he was teething. I think his breath was the worst at about 5 - 5 1/2 months old when he was getting his adult molars. Geez...it was really bad

At about 6 months his teeth were in and his breath was normal again.

He's about the right age for teething, that often causes bad breath.

I adopted Miles one month ago when he was about 4.5 months old. His breath was absolutely horrific!
After asking a couple of questions here and reading about teething, I held my breath to check his teeth
,and sure enough, he had 2 canines on his right side. I wasn't able to check the rest of his teeth.

I just noticed the other day that the smaller, baby canine tooth is gone. Apparently he's not done teething yet as he is still at that age and his breath is STILL terrible.

Odd, Tomas's breath didn't change. It's only now that if I miss brushing his teeth for 3 days that I smell anything -aside from when he gets in my face right after eating wet food.

Alright, thank you guys so much! I'm just worried that it could have something to do with his health.
