As you might be able to tell, I am a big fan of the comic strip Mutts. My girls are named for 2 of the characters, I have the books, pj's and everything. Today the December Newsletter was released from Muttscomics.com. In it they announced the passing of Earl, the Author/Artist-Patrick McDonnell's dog, who has been his inspiration for the main dog in the strip also named Earl. Earl was 18 years old. I'd like to take a moment to honor this special little guy, who has helped bring a smile to my face every day since I first found the strip.
