My baby boy has recently started a quirky habit. He poops in front of people! He's perfectly well behaved around me, but when ever he's around my parents he looks right at them and squats! Is this possibly psychological? What can I do to stop this behavior? His stools are not hard so it doesn't appear to be medical, but it's becoming a real problem.

A cat's stools are firm. If your kitty's are not then it is a medical problem.
It is possible that other people upset him. I would keep him in a separate room when you have visitors.

Yeah, the healthier the cat is (and the higher quality its food) the firmer its stools will be. If they're soft, he's probably got tummy issues and gets excited or scared and has to go.
