Bentley and Trinity both got their shots last night. When we got home, Bentley threw up a few times. It was clear, and a very small amount so I wasn't too worried about it. When I woke up this morning though, Matt told me that he threw up a little bit of blood early this morning. I called the vet and dropped him off on my way to work. I am really worried about my boy.

Dont worry too much. You did the right thing taking your baby to the Vet. My cat Jennifer has the same reaction to vaccines. Many years ago we got her vaccinated and shortly after she started vomiting til it became bloodly. We took her to the vet were she got a shot of bendryl and steroids. Now whenever she gets vaccinated, she gets the benedryl and steriods before the vaccine to stop the reaction before it starts.

Your baby should be just fine...

Trinity had a reaction the first time she got shots (she was really sore and would not let me touch her) so they put in her charts that she has a vaccine allergy and they always give her the benedryl beforehand. They gave Bentley the benedryl before his shots this time too. I think the nurse did mention they will probably give him steroids.

He got four shots last night, would he react less if they were spread out instead of all at one time or would that just make him feel yucky twice instead of once?

I just called the vet, they said he is doing fine now but they want to keep him for the rest of the day just so they can make sure he has no further reactions.

Lucy Belle is getting her first round of shots later today. After reading the responses above, should I be concerned at all? Do kittens react negatively after being vaccinated? I've read on some holistic cat care site that vaccinations are unnecessary if my cat is an indoor cat and have very low risk of being infected. Also, there's this site which lists all the dangers associated with vaccine exposure.

Of course I realize that there are many approach when it comes to this subject. I strongly disagree with not vaccinating your child so the same goes to my kitten.

Animals tend to react to some vaccines more then others. I would think it would be ok to give them all at once as long as he doesn't react when he is premedicated. If he still has a reaction, then I would spread them out. My cat gets all of hers at once, and doesn't have any problems as long as she gets the steriods and benedryl beforehand.
