Baby Squee is just totally infatuated with my eldest brother, Jesse. (He's the one in the pictures with Squee sitting on his head.) She tries to eat his food, drink his cereal milk, perches on his arm, licks his elbow.. but the cutest thing she does happens in the middle of the night. My brother's room is in the basement at the end of the stairs, and he sleeps with his bedroom door closed. A short while ago he would wake up and there would be Squee waiting outside his door. Later on Squee wouldn't be there, but there would be her favourite toy waiting for him: a purple feather wand. Every. Single. Night. It's there, although occasionally substituted with a foam ball.
My mom wakes up very early in the mornings -- 4 am -- and often times she sees Squee carrying the feather end of the wand downstairs, head bobbing, the stick dragging behind her. Last week she found it outside his door and brought it back upstairs. Less than an hour later it was in front of his door again. Jesse has caught Squee bringing her toy down only once. She was turning the corner of the landing just as he was in the doorway. She looked up at him, eyes wide, then opened her mouth, dropped the toy, and ran down the stairs into another room. Squee is just a riot!
