Hi Guys!

Don't know if any of you can help me!

I have 3 female house cats. 2 of them were spayed a fortnight ago and now they are both ganging up on the other one. I have had to lock the 2 offenders in a seperate room during the day and then swap them over at night so the victim is in there. I am also making sure they share beds and litter trays so they all get used to each others scent. Is this the right thing tobe doing?

I don't want this seperation to carry on for too long as I feel the more time they are apart the worse the situation is going to get. Has anyone got any other ideas or experiences of what to do?

Do they gang up when you're around? Juniper beats up on Bixby when we're not watching, so we keep them separated when we're not at home and make it clear that we're close by when we let them play together. They've been getting more and more friendly, but Juniper is still almost 2x larger so he can get rough sometimes. But if we keep an eye on them, their playing stays playful since Juniper knows we'll knock him around ourselves if he knocks Bixby too much!

They do it when we are and when we aren't. It has only been happening the last few days since itsy and mischief came back from the vets after having their stitches taken out. After they came out from being spayed they were shut in the lounge so we could keep an eye on them fighting and pulling at their stitches but after a few days they were let out and were absolutely fine around tatty.

I really don'tknow what has started it off though. I knowthey smell of the vets canupset/disturb the cats that have been left at home and make them aggressive but not the other way around as this seems to be.

I have never had a problem with them fighting at all before and I have had the youngest 7 1/2 years and they have always been house cats and got on fine.

I did however, have some success when I came home for lunch and this evening by feeding them all a slice of ham between them, they were sitting quite nicely then and I now have had them roaming freely around the flat for about an hour and have not heard any hissing or growling yet although tatty did run and jump on theboiler when she say itsy coming towards her. I am sitting here with the water pistol at the ready!!!

You might try putting some vanilla extract at the base of their tails and top of their heads to make them all smell the same. You could also pick up a feliway diffuser to see if that helps.

I have two Calico sisters that love to beat each other up. They wrestle and bite at each others necks. Most of the time they are just playing. Sometimes I seperate them because Nu Nu is a very small kittie and her sister will kick her in the head when they wrestle. Its funny because one minute they are fighting and the next they are snuggling together on the couch and cleaning each other's fur. I think its natural for cats to fight. Just make sure it doesn't get too out of hand. My old cat used to get absesses(not sure of spelling?) from fighting the neighborhood cats and he even took the nose off of a dog so i guess I'm used to feisty cats. If you start finding sores and such then I would be concerned. If cats really hate eachother then they will puncture skin.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your input!

I actually went down to the vets on Tuesday and bought 2 feliway difussers, they seem to have calmed them down but they are by no means back to the normal cats they were before!

I am having to seperate them at the moment as tatty has hurt one of her back legs therefore can't jump properly to get away from itsy and mischief... he favourite hiding place is on top of the boiler!!!!!

The reason they are worrying me so much is that I've never had a problem with them fighting before... I am picking up handfuls of fur! Mischief is the youngest but I have had her for seven and a half years and tatty is the eldest, I have had her nearly nine years, itsy is the middle one and I got her just over eight years ago... they weren't even this bad whhen the two latest cats were introduced, there was some hissing going on but then one of them wuold just turn their nose up a wal away!

It got to the point last night where I could let itsy and mischief out of my dinning room and they were't purposfully looking for tatty but when they ran into each other in the hallway they would just hiss and growl then tatty would run.

Ok Guys,

Thoughts and input greatly appreciated!

Tatty (the bullied one) now seems to be getting on with itsy ok, possibly sleeping together last night as we locked mischeif on her own until the meowing drove us mad at 3.30 this morning when we put itsy in with her to keep her quiet.

I have had mischief on her own this morning as itsy and mischief were fighting (poss play fighting but didn't seem like it) this morning and so the other 2 can get used to each other again and tatty can re-establish her role as boss of itsy at least. I have not found any fur anywhere so I'm guessing this is a good sign????

Should I now be letting mischief out so she is with the other 2 or should I wait another day or so?
