Has anyone ever done this?

My Toto is a lazy, spoiled cat. We took her in off the street about two years ago. She's been sleeping with us ever since.

For the past month she's been waking us up anywhere between 4 and 7am DAILY. She meows mostly. I've had about enough. I'm sitting here at work barely able to keep awake.... I write kids ESL books, so my job is fairly demanding creatively and I need a good night's sleep.

I'm at the point where I want to start locking her out of the room. I know she won't take to this kindly.

Has anyone ever successfully made a spoiled cat sleep outside the bedroom? Am I wasting my time considering it?

lol, i know exactly what you are talking about. you could try, but i know if i ever locked one out that i would hear scratching and meowing until all hours of the night to be let back in. good luck with whatever you choose.

That's what I'm thinking. I might give it a try, but I think I'm asking for trouble. I'll have to try another approach.

I read the whole thread about cats waking us up at night....glad I'm not alone, but it's still soooo frustrating!
