she being a typical cute kitten of 4 months old....but i had a question, she barely and i do mean rarely meow's....i've only heard her vocalize about twice

is this normal? i mean i doubt anythings wrong with her....im just curious

btw, we'll be adding a new kitten to our family, a playmate for Ginger, a 3 month old female Ragdoll. a friend said that ginger will be come more vocal when she has a playmate and such, your thoughts on that?

Why not ask the Vet?

Raven is pretty quiet overall, she hardly ever meows. She does "chirp" when she is play hunting. Jack on the other hand, he meows all the time. Every kitten, like every person, differs in how vocal they are and how they communicate.
Is it quiet in your house? Maybe that is why she is quiet.

My cat Blossom is a quiet kitty. She was found by my son at 3 weeks old. I thought it was bc ahe hasn't heard another cat, only our 2 dogs. Even when we accidentally tread on her she hardly makes a sound. Last time I had her at the vet & she was in her carry basket waiting to go in she let out 2 distinct meows at 1/2 volume. The most she does at home is make an 'ackack' sound when she's watching birds through the window..

Not all cats meow, and they usually don't meow much at each other. It's normal.

I have a quiet one too, Sho - the big cat in my sig, will cry if hurt (Tomas biting too hard), and will lightly brrr but never actually meows.

Zoey was a very quiet kitten. I thought the vet was crazy when he said she talked the entire time she was there after her spay surgery. She has started talking to me about breakfast an an occasional conversation during the evening, but she is usually quiet. She does talk the entire time in the car though.

Radar barely ever makes a sound except when he's hunting flies, when he makes peeping noises. I trod on him once and he stayed completely silent
