Last night DH in I were in bed talking and being silly. I started to laugh about something and couldn't stop. DH started making fun of my laugh and it made me laugh harder. Then he just looked at me like I'd gone bonkers. I had to take deep breaths to stop laughing because it was making my stomach hurt. Do you guys just go into crazy laughing fits or am I nuts.

Yes, we've done this many times. I get giggle fits and when I start giggling, both John and Jennifer start too. They have no idea why I'm laughing and therefore no idea why they are laughing and I am laughing too hard to tell them. I guess you could say I have an infectious laugh.

I do it too...but at the worse moments when everyone is super quiet. I'll get mentally bored and then think of something funny and REALLY have to control the giggles. But then I'll start to concentrate more on the funny thing I'm thinking of, and really have to control them more.

Oh gosh, yes, my whole family is like this! My brother and I especially -- we go all red in the face and can't catch our breath and just dissolve into tears before we finally regain control. Just the other day at Thanksgiving dinner, something set us off, and pretty soon all five of us -- Mom, Papa, brother, nephew, and me -- were collapsed in helpless giggle fits... I love it when that happens...

Mom and I get that when we are really tired.
A few years ago, Nana was home on hospice we were getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night. Everytime it came to change the bed sheets we would get the giggles.

If DH and I go to bed at the sametime I start to giggle. He falls asleep in 2mins but it takes me an hour. I start thinking maybe I am keeping him awake by moving so much. Then the giggles start. He doesn't appreciate those moments as much as I.

I had something like that a wee while ago. It was my dad's birthday and all of us kids put together money to get him a laptop - my brother wrote a lovely message but made a mistake saying I am proud to be your dad then crossed out the dad and put down son. When we saw that mistake, I went into hysterics and pretty soon everyone else was and we were all crying so hard from laughing so hard.

My family has always been one that laughter is a big part of us. When we are all together, that happens a lot.

It happens most to me at night when I'm with a friend or two. Usually it's over something not at all funny, but I can't help it! When I start to laugh it just gets worse, to the point that I'm bent over and clutchig my stomach from giggling so hard.
It happens the most when I'm with a friend, though...not very often by myself.
