I just wanted to share really. Our cats have had a good cat tree ever since they were kittens, but I recently noticed that they exhibited scratching-type behaviours when I'm preparing their food, and also upstairs when they wake up after dozing in the study while I'm working.
We recently went to a cat show, and purchased two more scratching posts - big tall strong ones (they are Maine Coons!). And Bruce and Sheila love them! It seems to make them so much happier that they can legitimately sharpen their claws in all their favourite places now!
I got them because I thought it would make our cats happier, but I'm amazed at how much they use them and how much more contented this seems to make them!
