Hi!

Hi everyone!

I just got my first cat. My boyfriend's house burned down last week, so I am now the owner of his 2 year old cat Lily. I've never had a cat before, so I am hoping this forum will help me learn how to take care of her the best way possible. I just want to be a responsible pet owner! I'm currently in medical school, so I don't have tons of time or money, but people assure me that cats are happy to be home alone sometimes and they don't need lots of expensive stuff. I hope they are right!

Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself and thank everyone in advance for any advice they may give me!
