When you and your SO get ready to leave the house does he take longer to get around than you. My DH takes forever. I'll be ready to go then have to wait for him to piddle around for a half hour or so. Then when I think he's finally ready he has to walk around the house making sure he has everything. I should just start waiting to get ready.

No, he's rather quick about it. It's me who takes forever, especially in the morning. Usually due to lack of sleep, poor sleep - still exhausted, or being stiff and sore. I need a half hour to just drag myself out of bed.

Yup, he always takes longer.
Makes sure he has his cell, check to see if he has a text to reply. I get myself and 2 kids under 3 ready before he is done!

My SO will sit watching tv while I'm getting ready, then just when I'm all done he starts to get his act together! It's quite frustrating. Plus the other morning he got me out of bed to drive him to the train station, then proceeded to faff around for 10 minutes while I stood freezing my butt off in the hall!

I am one of those weird people that would rather be an hour early than a minute late. I start getting ready about an hour before I have to be at work, then I walk around gathering up my purse, phone, money, lunch. It does not take him long to get ready at all, and I try to time it so we are close to being ready at the same time. He will leave the house in time to barely where he is going on time.

He always takes longer than me, he's the one that wants to go somewhere and I'll be up and showered and dressed and have all of the animals fed and dogs walked... and he'll still be getting ready when I'm done!

I can be up and out of the house, fully dressed and ready to go in fifteen minutes. DH often takes that long just to put his clothes on!

same here

He makes me late for stuff though, even though we seem to be ready at the same time

Not really. I'm more the one to piddle than him. the only thing, which isn't a big deal is that he waits until I'm ready then goes to the bathroom.

Oh deffinately not!

Now I may start getting ready first, but it seems like as soon as I've fussed at him he magically appears dressed and waiting by the door!

That is exactly how mine is. But if I wait to get ready I have to hear how he had been ready for like an hour!!! Yeah.. right!!!
It doesn't fix it any way you cut it, so just try to get used to it. It's hard though.

I'm relatively fast getting ready. Usually he will ask if I'm ready yet, and he'll be sitting there without shoes and socks on, when I'm standing at the door waiting. We don't usually put in an hours worth of effort to go out though. Usually 10-15 minutes is all we need.

YES!!!! I do much more to get ready, but he must think that since I do so much more then he has more time to goof off!!! I'm almost always ready and he's the one who makes us late!

I've found that I have to turn the TV and computer OFF in order for Brian to get ready anywhere near the time I'm ready to go. He'll just stand there and zone on the TV with his shoes and socks in his hands for half an hour if I don't.

I think the difference is that I'm the kind of person that always has a game plan and two contingency plans and I'm always 5 minutes early, or whatever in that instance is considered a respectful amount of time early. I'm a master of time and schedule management. He's the kind of person that rolls with the punches and makes decisions on the fly and is perfectly cool with being 15 minutes late to his own funeral. If you want him to be somewhere at 9, it's probably in your best interest to tell him to be there at 7.

It can be a challenge.

We are both fast! My husband is usually ready first, though. I can have a shower, wash my hair, put my makeup on, and get dressed, all in 10 minutes.

Now, getting our nine-year-old out the door... that's a different story.
