I think you should marry Shawn. Unless either of you are already taken. He's a hero.

omg I almost cried when I read that article, this is exactly how I felt... terrified and being the only one who knew he was in danger, everyone else laughing it off...

Fortunately my story has a better ending.

Berach went to the vet this morning. He had to have a subcutaneous fluid injection due to mild dehydration. Also, he has a mild respiratory infection and will need to be on antibiotics for the next two weeks. Both of these are a direct result of exposure after only 24 hours in the tree.

Thank you all for your support, it's extremely important that people understand that this kind of situation is serious and nees to be treated as such.

Thank god he's gonna be okay.

OMG that would have been terrible! Im so glad your baby came down! Mine did that once and she didn't come down by herself. I had to have some youngin go up my PINE tree and get her down. It was awful. I also had someones cat get stuck on my neighbors roof and yes, it died. We found the smell awhile afterwards and had to go remove the body! We gave him a proper burial and all that stuff! Im glad he's down! GOOD JOB!

also, as an afterthought...

I am SERIOUSLY considering starting an emergency animal rescue service for this area. After this whole ordeal, it's so obvious that there are NO RESOURCES around here for people and kitties that need help. I know how I felt throughout all of this and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I'm going to start researching tonight on what sort of training I would need to provide this kind of service to those in need. There is one in San Diego... that's the closest one I've heard of.

Don't under estimate the value of good neighbours. Personally, I would pick up a bunch of fresh cut flowers and hand deliver them to the neighbour and sincerely thank her for allowing your BF to climb their tree to get your precious kitty and how much it meant to you. We live in a small community and are blessed with wonderful neighbours who were really there for us when Bijou went missing for 4 days.

I know they didn't respond well to your requests, but rise above that and thank them. You never know when the good deed may come back to you.
Agreed. Cookies are another good option. It's not that you're supposed to do this; but that it would be better than TPing their tree and making enmity where it doesn't need to exist.

Yeah, you have to be the "adult" here and make nice, and thank them for allowing you to rescue your cat. They sound like jerks.

Next time - tell people that cats have a design flaw - their claws work well for going up in trees, but not back down. And if they are babies and scared then they will have to be rescued!!! Sometimes they don't know what to do.

OMG I am so happy to hear your kitty is okay!! Stupid crabby neighbors, I am glad my neighbors aren't like that.
