Well I just talked to the vet & they are giving me a differnt medication for Jordan to try for his tummy, but this was a differnt vet. His regular vet told me that he felt that lymphoma was less of a concern than previously. This vet said that pred tends to help cats with lymphoma for several months & then the lymphoma flares up again, which could be what is happening in this case. In addition, he said that the research shows that cats with lymphoma who have been on long term pred use do not respond as strongly to chemo as cats who have not been on pred at all. His regular vet said that before he went on the pred & then what made me make the decision to put him on the pred was that he said his research showed that was not the case. That in cats the use of pred did not interfere with chemo.
Well so much for enjoying my vaction. I guess I'll have to try and not focus on the idea that Jordan is infact not going to be with me much longer.

I'm so sorry.
I hope that the vet will be able to come up with another alternative to help keep your furbaby with you as long as possible. Many blessings & Vibes are being sent your way.

I'm very sorry. I think, from my own experience, that you probably have to decide between Jordan's current quality of life, and his longevity. If the predniso(lo)ne keeps him comfortable, but reduces the chances of his being around for a while longer, you have to have a somewhat clear idea of how effective the chemotherapy would actually be, and how well he'd probably tolerate it.
