I guess I'll be here in 2008, same as I have been in the past 36 years

Thanks for the comment Monique! I did approve it, of course.

Oh wow, those photos are beautiful. I'd love to go there just once.

Uh, the hookah in the front row on the left, with the frosted glass and the green bowl; if you want to send me that for christmas, I'll give you a mailing address.

Wow those are some neat pictures. It looks like a step back in time doesn't it! I'm playing a game called Assasin's Creed and one of the towns is Jerusalem, it looks almost the same as your pictures and the game is back in time!
They must not have changed Jerusalem much over the past 300 years!

So glad you shared your photos of a fascinating place I'll probably never get to see... and your narration really helped me imagine being there. Thank you so much!

I loved the pictures, it amazing to me that some of the settlements, could be that old and still there
my youngest child's birth father is Isreali , and lives in Isreal. I would love to take her there when she is older.

Well, the Old City has parts that go back 3000 years, and many that go back 1000 years and much more. That's the Old City though, most of modern Jerusalem is under 200 years old. It's very pretty though, since they have a regulation that requires all building to be built with, or at least covered with the local stone.

You know, I'm not sure what it's made of. It didn't look like fancy marble, more like ancient stone, though could have been a type of old marble.

The clear sound of the Muslim prayer coming from their mosque in contrast to the colorful streets is memorizing and clearly points out how much is going on in one small place.
Beautifully done Anne.
