He's gone........

Something told me around 3:30 this morning to get up and check on him.
I turned on the light just as he had laid down and he was gone

I feel so bad now ya'll. I should have stayed up and watched him! I feel like this is my fault.

He was just a baby and I wanted so much to give him a better life then to be a meal for something. I am so upset by this

Breath well over the RB baby Rocket

Yeah I posted yesterday about him having trouble breathing. I think he either had a URI or it was the pine shavings.. I wish I had known sooner about the shavings. I would have changed it.

I hope he's over the bridge enjoying his apples and hiding in someone's sweatshirt hood

Poor Rocket....it sounded like his condition was being managed...then....
seems a common thing with rats, when they get ill, they can deteriorate quickly,
when they're healthy-they're strong.
At least he is not suffering now.

RIP Rocket

There was nothing you could do - Unfortunately baby rats can sometimes pass away with these things very quickly.

Rocket knew he was loved and cherished and thats all that matters

I am *so* sorry for your loss! Please, please don't blame yourself. Rats are prone to UR problems and to cancer. One of ours has already had a cancerous tumor removed, and we have to watch him closely for any kind of a return of the infection that would probably take his life a second time around.

It is *not* your fault! I'm so sorry that this happened, but please, please don't blame yourself. You clearly did the best that you could for Rocket.
