Harry is one of the most vocal cats I have had; he's always 'talking' to me. This morning took the biscuit though; I was having a lie-in after a busy weekend and from 7am (after my partner left) he started miaowing. Loudly. He wasn't hungry, he didn't want to go outside, he didn't want to be picked up. He just wanted to make noise!

I eventually got up and went downstairs with him. 10 minutes after I get up I wonder where he is. He's back upstairs by himself playing! Did he just want to get me out of bed so he could have the room to himself?!

if this has happened regulary,it sounds like he has built it into routine, expecting his human to get up to his command and give him attention everytime.
Completely ignoring the attention seeking meowing, and showing no response at all to it everytime it happens should help with eventually lessening it.

i cant help but say harry is such a cute lil kitty!!! adorable
maybe putting a lil basket of toys he can play with in the same room will distract hima little bit before he wakes you

I know the feeling well! Zoe will perform all kinds of acts to get me up. Then after I give in and join her day, a few minutes later... she's back in my room settling in for a cozy nap! and that's after staying in our bed for most of the night already. She must sleep better when the bed is hers alone!
