..your kitty's litterbox that is..

I am ready to move my gang out of the bathroom to the perfect locale permantely.

They want some privacy when they go now, I can tell , and there is too much traffic coming in and out of our bathroom for them at this point. Not to mention I have to go to bigger boxes now that everyone is getting bigger.

So where do you kep your cat's box (es)?

Same for us. We also use the rubbermaid totes that have the higher sides so they have privacy

We have a spare bedroom that my Husband uses as an office.
There's a huge closet in there so we took the door off of it...Gracie was scared of the door...we have the two big Sterlite totes that we use for the girls and Elliotts covered box in there.

I use the extra jumbo sized, covered Van Ness boxes. I have one in the kitchen, one in my bedroom and two are side-by-side in my office, which is technically the dining room and is the central room in my apartment. They all (4) seem to like the two central boxes the best.

We have a sunroom that really doesn't get used for anything so I have their really big litterbox in there. They also have one in the basement but they don't use it very much. I know the general rule is at least one litter box per cat but when I had five around the house, only those two got used anyway so I cut it down to two. The litterbox in the sunroom is huge though, takes like fifty pounds of litter to fill it up!

We have one in the corner of the dining room - because it is rarely used and is pretty private. The other is in our bedroom in a quiet little niche as well. It's funny how they like certain boxes for certain duties....Kink is the only one who'll poo in the bedroom box and pee in the dining room box. The other two only poo in the dining room box and pee in either.

We have one in the laundry room, one in one of our spare bedrooms, and one in the living room. One of our kitties was urinating on the carpet in the living room and instead of buying new carpet, we opted for a litter box. We remove it when we have people over. I might consider moving it to the enclosed sunroom, though.

Downstairs bathroom and upstairs hallway.

The only reason we added the upstairs one is because he's so young (13 weeks) and he doesn't have full run of the house yet. He uses both without fail.

TEN litterboxes, katiemae1277? Yowzum!

I have one Litter Robot, in the kitchen.

Yeah, I know, Dear Husband gave the same look when I first suggested it. But it needs an outlet and it's kinda large, no way it would fit in the bathroom. And we wanted it on a tile floor, small apartment, no other alternative.

But it's all enclosed, we have less scatter than the bathroom (and no more stepping on litter scatter when we get out of the shower) the clumps wind up in the sealed drawer, and there's no odor. Really, it's less objectionable than the lidded kitchen garbage can where we dump the coffee ground, eggshells, etc.

And the look on my mother-in-law's face when she found out? Priceless!
