My Petco has those By Nature pouches of wet food. They have a little window on the front that lets you see the contents of the pouch, and the rest of the pouch is green.

Anyway, it says to feed 2 to 3.5 pouches daily per 4 lbs of body weight, divided into 2+ meals. So, for my 9 lb cat, this means to feed at LEAST 4 pouches a day (so 2 in the morning, 2 at night?). Does that seem like a lot? Each pouch has about 3oz of food.

all pouches are high on the number for the ave kitty... I can only figure the higher amounts are because they have higher moisture levels ( 82% vs 78% ) of most canned .. ie they are not as dense as regular canned cause the contents would slide out if they were ...

They are lower in calories than most wet foods, probably because of the higher moisture level Sharky mentioned. I emailed the company a few months ago and was told they have about 55 kcal/pouch. Even so, I think the recommended feeding amount is pretty high. My 9 lb. cat only needs about 150 calories a day, which would be less than 3 pouches.
