I am sad to announce we have lost one of the kittens and might be losing another despite all efferts. We lost our black (male) one tonight, he has passed on to rainbow bridge...and we might be losing his sister, a himmy.

From day 1, I didn't know if the black one was going to make it, and he finally gave in tonight. The little girl was doing great, gaining weight on schedule until today when she weighted in at 2grams less and since then has not been doing well. We do not want to giving up on her yet, but I think it is just a matter of time.

God bless them both.

I am so sorry. I love all cats but I have a real soft spot for black cats and pointed cats.

Such is the life of a breeder.
The good news (if it's any consolation) is that we learn the differences with every new litter born. So that the next litter does better everytime

Sorry for your loss on the little ones. I don't think there is a breeder alive in this world that hasn't lost kittens at some time or another. Its hard, but IMO the rewards of watching most grow and develop far outweighs the once in awhile in losing a kitten or two.

I agree with goldenkitten the benefits of saying i had XX healthy kittens..outweighs what heart ache we have to deal with. But still hugs to you.

We did end up losing the little himmy girl this morning, despite all our efferts.

That is true. It is just sad that there isn't much we can do.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.
