I'm going to be a Grandma!

For the first time! My son, who will be 22 next month, and his 20 year old girlfriend are expecting. I had mixed feelings at first, but I've had a couple of days to let it sink in and I'm getting excited about it. What's done is done and we will make the best of it. His girlfriends mother has been my best friend for 26 years. These two have known each other all their lives, always said each other was their best friend. It was kind of weird for us when they first started dating and then moved in together. My son hasn't always been the most responsible person in the past but she seems to have influenced him in a good way, he's much more mature lately. I get to share a grandbaby with my best friend! We are going to be awesome Grandmas!!!!

Thank you! Yes, it is exciting. I hope they are going to find out the sex, I can't wait to start buying cute outfits! I also need to call my son tomorrow and remind him that Chandra can't clean the litter box anymore. He needs to do it, and if he "can't" I will come over and do it everyday. But if his Dad can scoop...he can, too.

I remember when I first heard that I was going to be a grandma: I was so elated! And the first time I got to hold my precious little princess - well, there are just no words to describe the feelings!

What sucks is the fact that I've only gotten the joy & privilege of being able to see & hold her for only a week, b/c she's 1200 miles away.

Having a grandbaby is an experience that's too wonderful to put into words, and a treasure you'll cherish all of your life!
