i haven't even TOLD my aunt and uncle who i really am. it was bad enough when i was younger telling my aunt i didn't know what i believed, and having her tell me i would find Jesus in the end and that i would go to hell if i didnt (a very catholic statement for an ex-catholic born again). Some days you think you're free to say and feel and believe what you like, and then other times you feel like you're still in the middle ages "you bad person, me bonk you on head with club, ugg"
lol well maybe you will "find jesus" maybe you wont. But your aunt, like my aunt, miss the point its not her job to say what happens after.
well there are lots of things, i have told my grandmother, hmm one being i was gay, cause she kept bugging me about why i was not married, or that she was to young tell those stories to (followed with a hug and kiss)

I'm not trying to pick on you Bruce but you do seem to have quite a chip on your shoulder when it comes to anyone criticising Christians. They are no more above criticism than anyone else. Like everything - there are good and bad people in all walks for life. There are good and bad Christians, the same as in everything else. And people who don't subscribe to any faith can also be good people. When you refer to atheists it is always with scorn and with a lack of respect.
The point I think of this thread is that everyone who walks the earth has different ideas about things, and most of those people think they're the only ones who are right. Well, logically, that cannot be, so a little more tolerance to ALL would make the world a nicer place.
pick all you want you would still lose
hmmm but your wrong, i have heard more then one thai, and for that matter japanese person say, i wish western people would stop trying to do that.
AS for the thai greeting, trust me you would never get right, just say the word and dont try the rest
how many people really know, the japanese etiquette(yes i had to look how to spell it).. i do cause it was beat in my head , and spine for years by my japanese judo teacher(lots of very painful lessons)
and your right, a little more tolerance would be a good thing, i guess the anti xmas people need to learn it.
as for the atheists, most of them are the perfect example of intolerance.
everytime somone brings up the subject faith, they feel the need to jump with there, there is no god, etc etc etc,, why? they should just keep there mouth shut and move along, that coversation has nothing to do them.
someone in the lounge here can say thank god my cat was ok, and with in min there will be posts saying there is no god or making fun of christens etc.
i have never gotten to know a Atheists yet that once you got to them was not a sad misable person. That been my experiance in life.
