DH won't let me get a TSR subscription, so I'm not there that much
BPFTAF focuses a lot on Legacy. I'm not a big fan of MATY though because I can't navigate around the site at *all*. MTS2 I download from all the time though

Sims2 requires so much computer use. 1 laptop always overheated and the other crashed. I finally got a desktop up and running and installed it but haven't had much time to play. It still has a surprisingly long loading time with 3.2ghz processor and 2gb of ram and if I minimize it to look at a website it doesn't always load again.

Creating Carmel as a sim would probably be impossible even without the limitations of the software. Carmel has random patches of brown, black, and white all over and most aren't more than 1-2" before it goes to the next color. Then she's covered over in stripes that change color with the patches. It would take days to design a computerized Carmel that even roughly matched.

I can't live without my TSR subcription. MTS2 is slow loading for me but great for hacks. I only have 3 installed.

I had a hard time creating my calico. I just gave up and went with random coats.

The game shouldn't run slow on your system especially if you don't download hacks or objects. It could be your graphics card.

My desktop crashes all the time due to a bad fan. We're getting a new lappy soon though that's got a better processor speed and about twice the RAM that we do in this computer, so hopefully that's going to solve the problem for us!

I used to have TONS of downloads of TSR, MTS2, and many other sites. But once we got up to, I think, OFB, I wanted to spend more time moving from lot to lot, and I got sick of the load times. So now I have very few clothing, objects, etc in my game, although I do still have many mods. A lot of them are bug-fixes, or changes to things that just annoy me. (MATY is great for mods like that.)

I'm mostly custom skins. The load time from lot to lot isn't too bad, but it drives me crazy waiting for the main game to load up. I need to remove some of the hairs I don't like and same thing with the eyes. I don't have that many clothing items or objects. Mostly hacks, as you said.

I wonder if the hacks are slowing the game down for you. I only use one faithfully (merola multi purpose painting).

I know that hacks *can*. I've only got a couple of them that I really use... I need to remove Insim since it's not up-to-date for BV (or at least the version I have isn't. Other than that, I only have two hacks that I "use".

I have quite a few hacks in my game, enough that I have trouble keeping them all organized. The last time I reinstalled and played with no CC I was shocked at how different the vanilla game is!

I've been deleting objects that I don't use. We'll see if the game starts to run any faster for me now, but I doubt it. The base game ran just about as slowly, and BV actually caused a pickup in load time.

On another note, my legacy founder now has more than 1million in the bank. I'm not sure if it's going to continue to be fun at this point!

Eh don't worry! My friend's Mother is a Grandmother of Teenagers and pulls all nighters playing!

Last I heard, she was making only alien people and they were named after different types of nuts or something like that.

A 256mb radeon 9600xt despite not being ATI's best attempt at graphics cards should be more than enough for me to play sims2. I'm also not using any hacks. This game just has loading times to rival my xbox no matter what system I try it on. I'm not that patient. Which is what led to the xbox being mostly demoted to a dvd player.

Hacks or not, it *is* a slow-loading game, particularly if you have expansions installed. I hate to wait for it, and this computer loads it faster than any other system I've ever played it on. I still have to wait about fifteen minutes before I can actually play.

I actually have several versions of the game myself, and on several different plat forms, including a few of the original sims games on the computer, Sims 2 for the computer, though currently I don't have a computer to play it on yet, Sims 2 for the PSP and PS2 and Sims 2 Pets for the PS2. Sims 2 Pets for the PS2 is a bit lower key than the other ones, but you can control your sim(s) directly, and can raise both dogs and cats. I currently have 2 families on that game: one with 2 dogs and one with a cat. BTW, I actually posted several youtube videos on the Sims 2 games.

My fave mod is the Insimenator, it does everything.

I love the sims, my hubby just got me Mansion and Garden stuff, and I actually paid for all the stuff at the sims store for the spooky stuff, and the castle stuff. I am so addicted. When ever I say sims, all my friends sigh, espcially my best friend (who addopted Merri N Pippin), he just laughs at me and pokes fun at me. He doesn't like it much because it takes me away from WoW... LOL Every time a new stuff pack or expansion comes out. I have all the stuff and expansion packs, as well as some of the stuff that you can get at the sims store. I am thinking about ordering the collectors eddition of Sims 3 I need to make my mind up really soon before they run out.

I got into sims in '93 while I was playing the classic sim city. I thought how fun it would be to play the people not just build the town. I also had almost all the sim games for Snes. I still do. I buy almost every sim game I can. I am so pathetic... lol

Anyway, I have been working on some Gingerbread walls for The Sims Resource. I will be uploading them soon. I also build houses for the site. My name there is KandleLore.

Be safe, and happy simming

OMG lol it is. My laptop loads it very fast, and so does my desktop. Before I was waiting about 45 minutes for it to load. I got rid of all my custom made stuff, and use only the base objects. I do have some downloads, but not very many. Well I have tons, but they aren't installed. I have started installing them by what kind they are, and putting the folders in based on what theme I want at the time. It makes it so much better and easier for me. I have to defrag my com a lot though from moving files around like I do.

Google: Sims2Pack Clean Installer
It will help you in your organization and when ever you install more stuff.
I notice the game runs slower the longer you play. If you play A LOT like me, then once a year I have to start over. The installer above also will let you know of hacks, duplicates, or bad files.

Do they have the cellphone version out yet?

I had to buy a new computer last week, and I am thrilled at how fast my game loads now. I have completely quit using custom content like clothes/hair/furniture because the additional loading time is just not worth it to me. (I used to have several gigs in my downloads folder, and start-up and lot loading was agonizing.) I do still use game mods, but mostly just the fixes for bugs and annoyances. I know I would not be playing this game anymore without some of those mods!

Can't wait to see what The Sims 3 brings in February!!!
