Santa is sexist? - Page 2

I'm just going to say this. Santa is a scary being. He's big, red, and looks freakishly like a clown. Every single picture of me with Santa has the child version of a nervous breakdown and my mother laughing. He isn't sexiest; he's just my childhood nightmare.

I actually don't think this topic is such a big deal here. I've only heard mention of it once on the news and all the newsreaders were smirking about it. It's been taken more as a joke - even though I think the original intent was serious - but I can't imagine it actually happening. It's still in advertising etc.

One up for the ANTI-PC brigade!

I don't even believe this happened as it's being reported. No name is given for the Santa that supposedly quit in disgust. Then the company denies it. They asked Santa to soften his voice when talking to frightened children. A lot of children are actually frightened of Santa.

I think this is just Fox News trying to get people hysterical and excited about nothing again.

And, er, as for people in Australia not knowing what `Ho' means, I think you'll find that we do - and so do kids. You wouldn't believe how Americanised this country has become.

I need to mention not just the Americanised words, but the way young males dress now days. If i see ONE more guy my age walking around with his pants pulled below his buttocks, flashing his jocks and sporting a semi bleached mullet that looks like they've scraped a dead skunk off the road and glued it to their head, i swear i will SCREAM!! They walk around and act like the gang and groups i see in tv shows.

Grow up and get a fashion sense!!

I saw an update in the newspaper recently, apparently it was only said at one Westfield shopping centre to the Santa's in training.

The update said they will be saying ho ho ho.

Actually he employs all female reindeer

Male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, and they are all dropped by mid December.

However, female reindeer don't drop their antlers until spring after they have given birth.

So the only reindeer that have antlers at Christmas time are female reindeer

So Rudolph is actually a girl

Hmmm...transgendered drag king reindeer, gluttonous, whip-cracking, slave-driving elf who runs a sweat shop, calling people "ho"s. I love it!

Snopes didn't research this one very well. Here's the article on the Alaska Fish and Game department's web site that addresses Santa's reindeer:

http://www.adfg.state.ak.us/pubs/not...asreindeer.php

There are many conflicting stories on the web. Though male reindeer are larger and stronger, TRADITIONALLY the primary 8 are composed of 4 females (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen) and 4 males (Comet, Cupid, Donner - or Donder, Blitzen.) They are also not in the order they are commonly called. Blitzen ("Lightening") and not Dasher is the traditional lead and Donner ("Thunder") is the traditional "wheel" (power position - right in front of the sled. With the strongest animal pulling from the wheel position on his/her best side and the rest of the team balanced from there.)

OH wow this is crazy. So that would make me

vertically challenged, mentally unstable dog of the female persuasion.

Nice to know there's a clearer way to put it huh?
