Twix, Tucker, and Peep went to get spayed and neutered today. The appointment was early this morning between seven thirty and eight - that was the designated arrive time. Anyway, last nigh I went through and collected all of the cats to shut them in the garage for the night (they're outside cats no matter how much I dislike it).
However, in the morning it turned out I hadn't shut the door all the way. Peep was sleeping in front of the door being the good doormat he always is
, but Twix and Tucker...gone. Out hunting, I supposed. So, what could I do? I slipped on my coat and started calling for them.
Fifteen minutes later, I had Tucker and Peep in the garage where Tucker was carefully sniffing out the carrying kennel, and I was outside still calling for Twix. She never goes off of our property, I knew that, but we have ten acres. That's a lot of land to try find a cat over, especially when its thirty degrees out and you have to leave in ten minutes for an appointment at the vets! It turned out I was in luck, because halfway down our looong driveway there was a rustling and out of the bushes pranced a very happy, very proud of herself for escaping the garage Twix. By this time it was really when the crate should have been loaded in the car, but I was just getting the cats ready to go. Grabbing Twix, I made a break for the garage, packed up the cats, and headed out to the van where my mom was not-so-patiently waiting. Needless to say we were nearly late, and it's the last time we schedule an early morning appointment!
