Hello everyone.

We just brought our 6 mo. old kitten home from the vet after getting her spayed. When we got home and put her down to rest she started running all over even though she could hardly walk straight. When our 3 mo. old kitten saw her he started hissing at her and tryed to play/fight with her, but not in their usual way. We decided we needed to separate them and put her in the bathroom so she would calm down and not hurt herself. She started going crazy in the bathroom and was running herself into the door and such. So we let her out and put him in there, he is fine but she is still running around and wont calm down. Is there anything I can do to make sure she dont hurt herself and how can we make him comfortable with her again?

Thanks for any advise.

If you have any Feliway spray or plug-ins, I would use them -- she may feel calmer after you spray her bedding and environment. I would also call the vet/clinic as it sounds like she may be reacting to the anaesthesia. Some cats do this. Do keep her in a small space where she can't hurt herself for as long as needed until she calms down. GOOD LUCK, and keep us updated, okay? THANKS for adopting her and being so good about getting her "fixed"!

Leave her in her carrier for a few more hours or if you want, go to the pet store and get one of those wire dog enclosures that's big enough for her, the litter box and water/food dish. Set it up and drape an old blanket or comforter over it. Put an old blanket or towels in the bottom for her to sleep on.

I would check with the vet to be 100% sure nothing is wrong, even some little thing that could just be annoying (stitch-related or something), as her reaction is not that normal - usually they're 'down' for 1-2 days, not hyper.
