I just placed my order for a Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum!!!!

I decided to check my airmiles account and they credited my 700 for the fan and updated the miles I earned from purchases which gave me enough to order the vacuum!

They say delivery is about 4 to 6 weeks, but I've gotten most everything I've ordered within a week, maybe 2!

Wheee!!!!!

I can't believe I'm getting one for free!!

Now I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't send me a flipping substitute like they were doing with that dumb fan!

Congratulations! Is it an upright, or canister, Animal? One "reward card" here was offering the canister type, and I almost ordered it. Once I checked out online reviews, I decided not to. The upright is great (my mom has one), but the Dyson canisters are apparently very, very clumsy to pull behind you.

I love my mom's upright! She has three dogs and a cat, and the whole house is carpeted (ours isn't). You won't believe how much the vacuum picks up at first! Enjoy it!

If I might put in my 20c, I have a friend who has one and it has not stood the test of time well. I have a Hoover EmPower Widepath that is bagless, has a HEPA filter, and picks up extremely well, at a fraction of the cost of the Dyson. Just in case you're interested, it cost $90 us vs. about $500 us for the Dyson.

I have been reading all kinds of reviews and as with everything the reviews are mixed. Some like it others don't. But I'm pleased with what I have been hearing.

Besides, it's free! I used my airmiles to purchase it.

I only have an area rug that is about 5x8 or 10 feet and the rest is hardwood and tile floor. However, I have a couch, loveseat, 4 dining chairs and a bed that my cats love to sleep on.

Vacuuming really hurts my back and it tires me out very easily, and with the vacuum that I have now it takes me 2 or 3 days just to do my couch, loveseat and 4 kitchen chairs, and 2 more to do the rug and floors.

I'm hoping that the powered furniture tool will not only make it easier for me to clean, but also that it will get more cat dander out of the furniture too. Plus it will allow me to vacuum my comforter, something that is hard for me to do using the brush tool that I have. With the power hand tool I'll be able to tuck in the comforter and vacuum it with a power head!

We don't have an Animal, so we purchased the powered head thingy separately earlier this year, and I don't know if ours is just dodgy, but as soon as we started using it on the furniture, the head stopped spinning. It wasn't strong enough or something. We just use one of the little heads on the extendable bit, and that works fine anyway. We were annoyed to have wasted our money on the Animal tool though.

Yep! Absolutely FREE! I don't go out of my way to collect airmiles. When I buy something from a participating sponsor I give my card but I don't go out and spend money on needless things just to collect them. And there is no tax or shipping charges on the rewards. So it's not costing me anything. Which is good because if it were I wouldn't be able to afford it.

I can't wait to try it out, especially on my living room furniture. Even after I vacuum it and it looks clean I stuff up as soon as I sit down on it. Hopefully this new vacuum will help with that.

I have the Animal canister type and it's great. I have no problems with it
I thought that if I bought the upright I'd be forever having to use the attachments to get into corners etc as I only have a small flat so don't have large areas to hoover.

Even if the powered head isn't the best, it's still an awesome vacuum cleaner!
