Bigger Hip to Waist Ratio = Intellegience

Gee, that's my body type, I'm intelligent and so is my son, I like this study!

Right! And people with high foreheads are smarter too.

lol... I got a good laugh about this ...

there was a study of the great apes about this ... lol.. seems that gorillas ( males) prefer a waist to hip of .7 which in human medicine is also a sign of low heart risk

So does your son have that hip to waist ratio, too?

Fat on the hips is more likely to be omega-3, belly fat is omega-6, hence smarter children, according to the research. Who knew?
Oh boy, I'm going to have to cut back on my Omega-6

Huh...and yet they didn't mention anything about pear shaped women like me. Will I be able to display that honor roll student bumper sticker someday???

The one thing they're forgetting about in this study is that it takes another person to produce a child. What physical characteristics does he need to help produce that child? Or is it just mere attraction

could be true. Maybe smarter men go for that body type
post #9 of 13
Well, that would be just about all men, wouldn't it? So all men are smart??

Well, the old-time ranchers around here used to say "don't marry a man unless you don't mind the smell of his sweat" and several years ago, I read about a study (was is Danish?) that had women sniff different men's sweaty T-shirts and the ones that they chose were from guys whose DNA would blend well with theirs so that presumably the offspring would have better immune systems and thus more likely to be healthy children....How did those old-timers know

What a bunch of bunk! Yes, wider hips do generally mean a better ability to bear children, but it has nothing to do with intelligence!

The article says:

Quote:
The study, to be published this week, shows that men who admire women with hourglass figures do so because they are more intelligent and therefore produce more intelligent children than waif-like women or those of "apple-shaped" proportions.
The average IQ of a person is between 90 and 100.

The last IQ test I took, given by Mensa placed my IQ at 148.

Guess what? I'm an "apple shape." and according to that article I should be as dumb as a door knob

That's what I'm saying....I like this study because it reflects what I want to believe. If it doesn't, then people don't like it or believe it.

Every time you read a study/opinion/article, think why you agree or disagree with it. A lot of times it has absolutely nothing to do with the piece, but everything to do with you.

It actually does make sense though. If you think about it abstractly...... For example, men way back in the day, were looking for women with big hips, but in shape because they would be good birthing mothers. Just like animals in the wild pick mates for future baby quality. The intelligence may not be exaclty right, but having a healthy baby could give it a better chance at being intelligent........I know, abstract, but that's how I see it.
