It sounds like he is filled with the Christmas spirit! As long as he enjoys it, what is the harm. Some times there is little enough in this world that brings joy, let him embrace it.

There's a house here in town that decorates with those ridiculous inflatable things. Depending on the holiday, they have upwards of about 25 of the darn things in their yard. I drove past a couple of days ago, and they only had a couple of inflatable turkeys, and something else. I imagine Christmas will be the typical overindulgent nightmare. I'll have to post a pic, if I can remember to take one.

P.S. It's the in-laws of a gal I work with. She's absolutly mortified to be related (even just by marriage) to them, lol!!! Heeheee....I should send Nadia the link to that archway. It would be the perfect gift for her to give her in-laws!!!

Every year on the Saturday night before Christmas, my family piles into the car to drive around looking at Christmas decorations. I too prefer understated decorations, but the gaudiest, most festive house of the night gets a fruit basket from us and the title, "Most Griswaldian," after, of course, Christmas Vacation.

OP - if you lived near us your house just might win!

I Love It! When I was a kid we would also ride around and look at the decorations. The recently deceased James Brown lived in the next town over, and he would go all out decorating. He had a black Santa and elves, specially made just for him because they did not make them then, life size reindeer, and a sleigh than stretched across the road. He had all the trees in the yard decorated, and his whole house was lit up, you could probably see it from space. We thought it was such fun, it wasn't Christmas until you had seen his house. Sometimes he would even stand on his porch and wave at the people as they drove by to enjoy his decorations.

One of my fave decoration schemes was at a house near mine. It looked like they plugged all of their light strands together - and they were all different - and then tied one end to the dog and let the kids chase the dog. Light strands everywhere! Such a refreshing change from those who only decorate with white lights and in an orderly fashion.

Hey, I just live over the Maryland boarder, so if I can get a fruit basket out of it, it might be worth it! Can I request extra bananas??

Hey, are you saying we're "fruity"?
