Black Gums

hey there I realise this is an old thread but moy old moggy bagpuss has mouth ulcers at the moment and reading your thread has relieved me as I thought having black gums was definitely a sign of something more ominous.

I had a look this morning and his upper palate is all black and gave me quite a scare.

Any suggestions for best way of feeding him? I have taken to blending his food up so that it's more like a paste, would that help?
