What kind of water do you give your furkids? Plain tap, bottled or filtered?
Couldn't get the water filter for the tap to fit, so I bought a pitcher w/filter, but the girls don't like the cold water. I have been giving them tap water for the past couple of days, is this ok? What do you think?

They get water from the tap. The water here is really good stuff not polluted like most bigger cities..

We give our cats water from the tap but it goes through a filter in their cat water fountain so its nice & clean
We also add ice cubes to their water too

They used to get tap water, but since getting a fountain, I buy bottled water as we have very hard water and I don't want the lime build-up in the fountain.

Mine get tap. But the water in StL is very good. I won't drink tap water if I travel, but I like the water out of my tap better in then bottled water. . . . I guess it all depends on where you live.

Here and there
Here in Columbia, MO, the water is just utterly disgusting. Seriously, its worse than the taste of Chicago's! There the taste would go away if I put it in the fridge. Here nothing but a fillter gets rid of it. If I refuse to drink it, there's no way my kitties are drinking it, either.

CalicoPrincess, I know what you mean! I grew up in St. Louis, and the water there was wonderful! If I lived there, they'd get tap.

I knew I'd just answered this question a day or 2 ago: http://thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148037

Water isn't good anywhere in the midwest. It's really hard with high levels of calcium carbonate (limestone), minerals, and often contains fairly high levels of sulfur. It's an aquired taste. You gotta go somewhere sandy or at least without alot of calcium based rock like limestone to get softwater with better flavor.

I don't like the way our tap water taste so I give Babee filtered water. Even though her water fountain has a filter, I don't think it's very effective.

I have a filter attached to the faucet, and we all drink filtered water. It tastes better, if nothing else.
