Last night, the boys came to take a snooze up on my bed with me as I watched TV, and Max kept looking over at Ferris with the sweetest little expression on his face. At one point, he was watching Ferris groom himself, then Max got up and walked over to Ferris, heading for his face area.

I thought he was going to try to bite him in dominance (and so did Ferris) but instead, he started to LICK FERRIS ON THE HEAD!!!!

He got in a few licks here and there, but Ferris was a little confused and hissed him away. Max went and lay down again, but a little closer this time.

I think it is a matter of time until the two of them get cuddly. I think in Max, Ferris is going to find the kitty love that he's been searching for for so long!!!

Fantastic! Ferris will come around and be just fine.

How is MM doing? Why is it that I just want to run over there and cuddle him. And Ferris. And Ginger. And Penny.

Sonic HATES it when Radar grooms him. He acts like a kid who has just got to that age where he doesn't want his mum wiping his face in public - and I think that although it can appear to be quite a benign and caring thing to do, it is also a dominance behaviour of a sort - a mother pinning down her unruly and grubby kitten to wash his face - if that makes any sense! But quite a positive and non-threatening display between two cats who are learning to get along with one another.

The only time I've seen Radar and Sonic headbut each other was when Radar came back from the vet after having his vaccinations - none of this 'you smell of the vet and I don't recognise you' reaction, just rubbed against each other to greet and exchange scent then went and did their own thing. And the only time I've ever seen Sonic lick Radar was later that night when Radar was feeling a bit under the weather.

but, it is a much nicer form of dominance than tackling someone and biting them

Those boys will be friends, I'm sure.

Awww that's sweet. I remember when Spooky wanted to be friends with Taz (they were 2 yrs apart). Taz hated Spooky for a long time. But the kittens wanted so bad to be friends. One nite I had one cat on one side, the kitten on the other, and little Spooky put his head over my hip and just looked at Taz and started purring.

Guess even a cat cannot resist the purr of a kitten

I nearly caused a cat war last night, thankfully it ended with forgiveness and a kitty kiss.

I was shuffling out of the bathroom last night in the dark when my foot connected with a solid furry thing (must have been Sonic, I'd have seen Radar's white) - there was an almighty hiss (another clue it was Sonic) and the sound of running and then deep growling.

I turned on the light to find the 2 boys facing off in the hallway, both of them puffed up to the max and glaring at each other. I honestly thought there was going to be a serious fight, so in a calm voice I apologised to Sonic and told him it was me who had startled him and not to blame Radar - and I apologised to Radar for getting Sonic riled up at him - and they both crept forward low to the ground, tails like loo-brushes, I was edging towards towels just in case it kicked off - and then they touched noses, each gave the other a brief lick, all their fur went back to normal, and they walked off.

I guess they do love each other after all

On another positive note, I think Sonic may have finally learned not to stop right in front of me while I'm walking - he's giving me room to move my feet this morning!

Dont u just
those moments, and I do agree it sounds as though they will be cuddle buddies in no time
That just sounds soo sweet, I remember when Bella did it to Stormie when she first came and then she finally did it to blue (only once but still)! Those are really such precious moments!

I am so happy that all is going well though
