Gunky eye and swollen lip

So Kahlua has a bad habit of eating bugs... we try to make sure she doesnt get any, but it doesnt always work. But tonight I noticed her eye is really gunky and it has a reddish yellow tint. And her lip is about 3 times its normal size. Her lip has gotten like that before and our vet looked at it, and told us to keep a close eye on her. And after a day or so it was back to being normal.
But could these two be connected? Should I call the vet first thing in the AM about it? Or just keep a close eye on her, and if its not better take her on Monday? Please help?

I think you should call the vet or take her in as soon as possible. With her lip swelling once before and now with it involving infection in her eye, she may have something going on in her nasal cavity or maybe even a bad tooth. It can be risky whenever there's something like that going on around their face....and it's better to be safe than sorry!

also I wanted to add we just got a new addition to the family. My roommate moved her cat over last weekend, and they are tolerating each other, but dont like their personal space invaded. Could the lip, or even the eye, be a result of a smack to the face. Kahlua does understand why Keiko doesnt want to play with her, and has gotten smacked a couple of times....

anything is possible ... but a bug bite is a likely...

yea I have a feeling she ate another bug... she thinks they are tasty. She's still acting like herself, running around like an idiot... and attacking her scratching post whenever anyone gets near her.
