That's very informative. I found this statement interesting:
Growth/lactation and maintenance are the only nutrient profiles authorized by AAFCO and CVM, so terms like "senior" or "formulated for large breed adults" mean the food meets the requirements for adult maintenance--and nothing more.

youll see that in the fine print... ie why I often use senior instead of wt mgmt ... the seniors in both dog and cat usually have more cal than wt control yet are fewer than adult and or all stage
