At least they are working on his weight

I had a fine boned, medium sized guy that tipped the scales at 23 pounds at one time, he should have been around 11-12 pounds.
ex-boyfriend showed his love by giving food

Poor guy had suffered a couple strokes before I was finally able to get his weight back down.
I hope Mooch can lose his before his health is affected.

My Loki is about 13 lbs. The thing is he was so heavy that I thought he had to be 20 lbs.! I was so nervous when the vet weighed him and then so relieved. I'm still strying to get his (and Possum's) weight down, but I seriously thought I was going to be reported for stuffing my cat!

While all your cats are nice and probably sweet; being overweight is NOT healthy. I guess I've been around cat shows so long (over 25 yrs), I kinda cringe at seeing some of these very overweight cats.

I do my best to keep my cats (shown or not) in proper shape and kinda expect everyone to try to do the same. Guess its like people, a little on the heavy side is not so bad....but overweight?????

Those are big cats! And I thought my old cat Penny was big, although she did go on a diet which left her with the flapping flab of a belly.
But she didn't get as big as those, maybe 20 lbs?

Hey hey hey.
My friend has a huge cat. About 25 to 30 lbs. His name is Taz and she's put him on diets but nothing works. She got him neutured late in life and he gained weight after that.

That is Chablis in a nutshell! We have tried hundreds of dollars worth of diets and nothing works! He got so sick on one kind that we had to give him fluids! We got him around 2 years old, and they thought HE was PREGNANT!He was living under a dumpster behind a restaurant in the mall. So we know he wasnt on a very healthy diet! He was 27lbs when we got him, and he is down to about 23 now. The vet is pretty sure he is at least half maine coone because he has large bone structure and HUGE feet! He is currently 14 and living with my mom and their 3 month old kitten and is fairly active.

Bootsie, the cat we had when I was growing up, weighed in at about 28 pounds in this picture. It was taken about a year before he finally had to be PTS at 22 1/2 years old. His weight never really affected his health.
