I was doing my usual night walk with the bf, and this white & orange big tom cat came out from the shadows meowing up a storm. He was very hesitant to come over but kept talking, finally when he did, i bent down to pet him and he flattened and flinched in fear like he thought i was gonna hit him. I stood there for a couple of minutes trying to figure out what i could do , don't know if he has a home but am assuming so by where he was hanging out. The bf and i walked back to the house and got some canned cat food and warm water (it's cold out
) We were hoping maybe he wouldn't be there and someone would have let him in. It took a few minutes but he came out from hiding and I gave him the food & water which he was very happy about & let me pet him. I really feel bad for him. I'm not sure what I should do. I will check to see tomorrow if he is out. He had no collar on either which I know they can come off but it always drives me nuts when I see cats without them. He was pleasantly plump which also leads me to believe he has a home.....
