I've definitely fallen in love with this stray.
He's getting neutered and I am officially claiming him. He comes every day and eats and gets his attention.

So, I need a name for him.

I currently have an orange tabby named Fat Boy (his real name is Tigger)
A black female named Cricket.

And I have no ideal what to name this guy...

any suggestions?

Could you post a pic and give a little info about his personality? I name all of my animals based on there personality, what they have been through, their looks, or what name they seem to like the most. (ie mew... when you say her name she starts rubbing on everthing I sight. So i figured she must like the name)

What a handsome boy!!!

Irish
Ardan- From ardanach meaning "high aspiration."
Donncha - meaning "brown-haired warrior."
Liam- The Irish form of William "strong protector."
Malachi- means "my angel" or "messenger of God."
Quinn- A variant of the name ceann meaning "intelligent,"

Japanese
Kenji- Intelligent second son; strong and vigorous.
Rai - Trust; lightning; thunder.
Roka - White crest of the wave.
Taro - Big boy.

I'll post more suggestions later... Right now I have to get to class...

hello all, thanks for all the name suggestions. keep em coming...

he better be showing up again, I am on my way to pre-pay for his neuter and set it all up, (by pre-paying I get it done for $25) but if he doesn't come back, it's just lost $

he's been here most everyday for about a month now, so I'm hoping he comes on back.

you know what I find myself calling him? Buddy. I know that's so generic, but it's just what comes out of my mouth when I see him.

but still open for good ideas.

thank you all for the encouragement, hubby isn't too happy aobut another cat, but this only makes three, and hey-I could have a lot more right?

I have ten indoor cats, 1 outdoor cat, a barn cat, and John's dad's cat that lives with us! I can't imagine having only three, LOL.

ETA: I don't know why but when I saw his picture the name "Spencer" came to mind.

I think he looks like a Snowshoe, like the snowshoe hares that are brown in summer and turn white in winter, it looks like he is one of those turning white for winter. Mabye I think too much?

If not that then Patches, he has plenty of patches of hair that dont match his white body.

All my names are pretty unimaginative. How about Growltiger? That's a name from the play "Cats." I named one of my outside cats Growltiger and folks at tcs seemed to like it a lot.

Then there's Patches, since he has patches.

Best of all, though, I like Buddy. Good name for a cat. I actually have a cat named Little Guy.

Sounds very nice. Good luck finding him again. He might have heard the word "neuter" and gotten scared off. If only they knew what was best for them!
He's adorable! Let us know how everything goes!

he was here again this evening. His appt. is Monday.
I got tickled today, thinking about what he'd say to other strays..."better not go down to that farm, they feed you good, but part of your backside disappears!"

I got him some wool blankets and straw. He's kinda strange the way he acts. will you read my post in behavior and see what you think? it's called normal or maybe not normal.

thanks

the names are so pretty, but I am a plain ol farm girl and I swear, first time I saw him I said, "awwww, come here buddy"

and it just seems to be in my mind that that's his name, Buddy Boy.

kinda like the way I say, "come here my fat boy" to my Tigger. I just fits.

And Cricket, I usually call her "pretty girl"

So I don't know why I try to give them names...they end up with nicknames anyway, I guess I'm lucky they even know I'm talkin to them.

I like the name Jasper for him. Jasper means "spotted stone" in Latin. And he is covered with spots. He's a big cat so another name might be Moose.

I like that! I thought of a cow too, and thought that if he were a she I'd call her Elsie or Bessie, which are good old cow names.
