Hello from Ireland

Hello all,

I've just joined the forum. I've got two six month old kittens named Oscar and Lily and a year old rescue dog named Jasper who all get along great. I've posted in the health forum as poor little Oscar is very sick at the moment with enteritis. My last cat died last January aged 12 years of kidney failure following an operation and I hadn't planned on getting another cat for a while, but fate stepped in in the form of a neighbourhood stray who chose my house as the ideal place to give birth in (a mere two weeks after I adopted my rescue dog, so I went from no animals to six in a fortnight!). The mother has been spayed by me, but doens't really live here, as she's very independent - she comes by for a couple of hours every day (and keeps bringing her babies mice ), but visits half the neighbourhood as well...

Hello and thanks all! Unfortunately both the babies are now sick and miserable, but Oscar is improving and I hope that Lily having held off being sick for so long means that she'll recover faster too. I'm just waiting for their mother to stagger through the catflap and demand to be taken to the vets...

Pleased to be able to report that the two kittens are improving - they get better very fast once they start!

Mother cat is very around at the moment too - she's definitely not sick as she keeps coming in and looking for food - must think she's got to make up for what the other two aren't eating!

I'm just outside Dublin. The area I live in has plenty of young professionals and cats appear to be the pet of choice! There aren't many strays (yet).

Welcome!!! They are so cute!! One of my Pastors is from Ireland, and he tells us great stories about his childhood there, Ireland sounds like an awesome country. Its great to have you and all your furbabies here!! I'm also part Irish!! The dog is adorable and so loving with the kitties!! Whats his name??
