So the woman I e-mailed phoned me today to give me her address details. The kitten is a tortie, around 8weeks old. She is from a feral litter who was abandond at a few days old by her mum. The lady had brought her in and has risen them on her own with a bottle. Shes a little tortie girl. She has just gotten over a bout of cat flu, but the owner assures me she is okay now, but shes still finishing the course of anti-biotics.

I will be collecting her on Thursday (not tomorrow, as the title says) after work. I finish at around 4.30, so will hopefully have her home by 6pm. I can't wait. I've been looking at names that would work well with Links, and have decided on Lexi.

I'm so excited, and Links won't be alone anymore.

Yes, but luckily, Links is a month older than her so he can be neutered before she becomes sexually mature (hopefully)

Heres one I got from her yesterday, she's on the far right.

She reminds me a bit of Ziggy.

Congratulations!! A little tortie girl, eh? Get ready for the 'tude
but it's such fun. Lexi is a lovely name, too. Can't wait to see pictures.

I know all about the 'tude with torties!! Ziggy had great Tortitude. Her only tabby features were her face and on 3 legs.

I think Lexi is a Torbie too, if you notice the head.

Congrats!

8 weeks is quite early to be taken from it's mother. Ideally they should stay with their Mom for 12 weeks in order to learn all that neat kitty stuff and be weaned properly.

Is there any way that she can keep the kittens for another month before rehoming them? I know you are eager but it's really the best thing for the kitten.

The kitten doesn't have a mum. Her mother abandond her as a newborn with her littermates. She was reared on a bottle. I think 8 weeks is fine. And don't forget I've had 4 kittens from newborn before.

I think you'll do wonderfully with her! We brought Harley home at 8 weeks as well (his momma cat wasn't doing well with them
) & he's matured into a wonderfully well adjusted cat!

MAKE SURE she has her kitten shots before you bring her home as "Cat Flu" is usually fatal! I'm astounded that no one has mentioned this. She must get her FVRCP before coming inside!

And now for something completely different -- I've read the "'tude" comments, and I have to say that my torti beauty, Tarifa, has absolutely NO 'tude at all. She is the PERFECT cat and right from the start, when we adopted her and brought her inside, there was not one hiss, growl, or swat from the family OR from her.

Good luck with little Lexi -- she is a cutie! and THANK YOU for adopting her.

Congrats, I am glad you found a kitty so soon.

If your other cat isn't neutering age yet, has he had his boosters? Cat cold/flu (URI) spreads easily, I would get boosters for your resident cat and first shots for Lexi before introducing them.
