I haven't had much luck with the hairball paste. He won't eat it, refuses any food I add it to, and won't lick it off if I put it on his coat. He just wails and rubs it off on the furniture or LR rug, and I get a whack for my trouble.
Jamie!

Lots of vibes for Mario's tummy!

So glad he is ok

When I took Riley to the vet for his vomiting, they did the same thing. Give him paste every day for a week, then once or twice a week thereafter. Maybe you will need to do the same for Mario indefinitely as well.

I've tried cat grass, but Riley just plays with it and makes a huge mess
Thankfully, he LOVES the hairball paste and it is one of his "treats" along with the salmon treats he likes

It's Petromalt...I also gave him a 1/4 of a pepcid and some Impatiens flower essence just now I hope it helps
He's still acting fine ... a little while ago I caught him on the counter eating the girls food.

glad to hear it's probably just hairballs, the petromalt should work (after he gets the hariball out) I had this problem with Jinx, the hairball would get "stuck" and her body kept trying to get rid of it

When Riley had that problem, he threw up right after he ate. I took him in on a saturday and the vet said that if he was still doing it on Monday to take him back to get xrays to check for blockage.

I would say if he's still doing it tomorrow, you might at least call the vet.

Oh thanks guys I'm sorry I forgot to update
He hasn't vomited in about 4 days so that's a good sign...it must have been a furball...I think it's time to get him trimmed...his mane alone is like 6-7 inches

Awwww that's good

Sophie sicked up a small furball the other night but she looked like she wanted to sick another one up because she was trying her best but only liquid came out, so mum got the laxitone out and spead it all on her front paws for 2-3 days. The others got a dose as well just for good measure

That's a relief...
After the spring and summer shedding season, I became lax about brushing Dexter & Sadie daily.
The other day Dexter hacked up his first (in 7 years) giant fur ball.
Scared me to death.
He is OK now but I must be vigilant about brushing him.
I don't ever want that to happen again.
