I have seen on this board advice that egg yolk is ok for cats, but not egg white. Then I see in certain ingredient lists (Orijen) "whole egg".

So, is egg white bad for cats or not? Why can they have yolk but not whites? If so, why is it in this premium food?

Cooked eggs (yolk and white) are fine for cats - its the uncooked eggs you have to watch for.

We usually scramble any left over egg (like when making french toast) and divide the cooked egg up between the cats and the dog

You could also give him hardboiled eggs. Jamie will practically stand on his head to get one, and is an Easter egg thief who has mastered the fine art of smashing the shells.

Rawpaw's quick start raw recipe uses the whole egg raw. Catnutrition and catorg's recipes use the yolk raw and the whites either left out or cooked.

You can also use the egg shells. Grind them into a fine powder and add them in for some calcium.
